2013 Day of the African Child
The AfricanCommittee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) has identified the theme , “Eliminating Harmful Social and Cultural Practices Affecting Children: Our Collective Responsibility”for the commemoration of the 23rd Day of the African Child in 2013.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate the Day of the African Child and draw attention to the need of eliminating harmful social and cultural practices affecting children.
The DAC 2013 also will help to create awareness on the importance of involving children in their ownissues and promote togetherness among children from different African countries. The event is to become the source of positive communication for children from different African children, their teachers, parents, the NGO community and other stakeholders by the way of learning more about the important social issues affecting children.
